| "We like nonfiction and we live in fictitious times. We live in a time when we have fictitious election results that elect a fictitious president. We live in a time where we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons, whether it's the fictition of duct tape or the fictition of orange alerts, we are against this war, Mr. Bush. Shame on you, Mr. Bush! Shame on you!" |

Anyone who was paying any attention at all knows that during the war anything anti-war or anti-Bush was censored and kept from most public TV and radio stations. I know locally most radio stations wouldn't play classic protest songs like "Give Peace A Chance" or "War". That was "being unpatriotic". No, that was taking away our first amendment rights of free speech. If we wanted to listen to anti-war songs that was our right. We had to put up with all of their pro-war stuff. |
I found it quite amusing during the war that Bush wanted to try the Iraqis for war crimes because they were fighting back. I thought the purpose of war was for two countries to "fight" one another, if the attacked country can't defend themselves, then there would be no war. Besides, what right did Bush have to complain about war crimes when he's more guilty of them than they were. He attacked a country without UN approval that posed no immediate threat to the US. That is a war crime.

The country music singers say "Remember September 11", but Iraq had nothing to do with September 11. At that point in time they were sided with us, offering to help us catch the terrorrist responsible, but now, according to the "Gosple of Bush" they were just as responsible for it as Binladden. Everyone is so blinded by what happened September 11, that they are willing to believe the lies of George W. Bush and blame anyone and everyone else for their losses. Open your eyes, this war has nothing to do with September 11, it is over oil!

Well, it seems the war is over (for now). All our voices seem to have been unheard, but maybe not. We can still make a difference. We can still boot Bush out of office next election, assuming they actually count all the votes next time and give all voters an equal chance to vote. We can still voice our opinions, our thoughts on the war that has come and gone, our thoughts on future wars, our thoughts on society as a whole. We can still show we support peace, we can still stand up for freedom.
This IS the dawning of a new age. Things are going to change, for better or worse I can't say, but changes are coming for the United States, for the world. Maybe this new age is just the beginning of the end, maybe not. Who's to say.
If you believe in the Bible, you might notice that it seems many of the things referred to in the Book of Revelations have already come to pass. Even pagans with any knowledge of Revelations know this. Wether this is true or not is another question. All I can say on this matter is would you rather have hatered for your fellow man or love when the end comes.

| One Tin Soldier |
| Joan Baez |
Listen children to a story That was written long ago About a kingdom on a mountain And the valley far below. |
On the mountain was the treasure Buried deep beneath the stone And the valley people swore They'd have it for their very own. |
Go ahead and hate your neighbor Go ahead and cheat a friend Do it in the name of Heaven You can justify it in the end. |
There won't be any trumpets blowin' Come the judgement day On the bloody morning after One tin soldier rides away. |
So the people of the valley Sent a message up the hill Asking for the buried treasure Tons of gold for which they'd kill. |
Came an answer from the kingdom With our brothers we will share All the secrets of our mountain All the riches buried there. |
Now the valley cried with anger Mount your horses, draw your sword And they killed the mountain people So they won their just reward. |
Now they stood beside the treasure On the mountain dark and red Turned the stone and looked beneath it Peace on Earth was all it said. |
Go ahead and hate your neighbor Go ahead and cheat a friend Do it in the name of Heaven You can justify it in the end. |
There won't be any trumpets blowin' Come the judgement day On the bloody morning after One tin soldier rides away. |
